Nottinghamshire Infrastructure - Introduction
Nottinghamshire's Infrastructure Consortium is working across the county and city to improve local voluntary and sector (VCS) infrastructure in partnership with Government, local authorities and other funders. This follows the Home Office Review published last year and the ChangeUp national document published in July 2004.
Overall vision To sustain and improve infrastructure organisations and provision in Nottinghamshire, supporting the diverse needs of geography, interest and culture across the county and city voluntary and sectors.
Geographical coverage The consortium covers the geographical and local authority areas of the county of Nottinghamshire and city of Nottingham.
The Consortium has produced an Infrastructure Investment Plan (IIP) for Nottinghamshire (see link at bottom of home page). This sets out the current situation and strengths, and also highlight gaps and different ways of providing the support VCS organisations want. The next stage is to identify investment not just from short-term Home Office money up to early 2006, but crucially from local funders in the longer term.
The key question is what works best, and answers groups’ needs for the kinds of services and support listed below. It is not intended to protect existing structures and organisations if other ways of providing infrastructure support would work better. It is aimed at securing a better and more uniform standard of support across the area. |
